Justin and Lexi first met in the 3rd grade, playing kickball on the playground at Poinciana Elementary school. They went to different middle schools but being that Key West has only one high school, they attended Key West High School at the same time both being a part of graduating class of 2011. Although Justin and Lexi were a part of the Key West United Methodist Church youth group, they never seemed to attend at the same time. They also ran with different crowds in high school, so they didn’t cross paths much as teens. Then, six years after graduating from high school, Justin and Lexi ran into each other at a KWHS softball game in “The Backyard” where they got to chatting and sparks began to fly. Finally in May of 2017, Justin made the move that would change their lives forever. They went on a date at Boondocks Grille. They had a fun night of mini golfing, (where Lexi claims to have beat him ;]) and they have been inseparable ever since!

Lexi was at home starting dinner on a Monday night while waiting for Justin to head home from work. All of a sudden, Lexi gets a call from Justin. He tells her that the soccer girls forgot to close the bunk room and asked if she would go with him to go close it. She agrees to go, so Justin picks her up and they head to “The Backyard”. When they arrive Justin gets out of the truck but Lexi decides to stay in the car. This was not apart of the plan Justin had in mind! So he quickly comes up with an excuse to get Lexi to get out of the truck. He comes over to passenger window and asked Lexi to come into the bunk room because it was going to be a while. When they walked out of the locker room, Justin led Lexi to the softball gate entrance, and began reminiscing on the start of their relationship. Lexi was not sure what was going on but she had an idea. Justin then got down on one knee, pulls out the ring, and, in the spot where it all began, he asked Lexi to spend forever with him. ❤️ Such a thoughtful and amazing way to connect their love story full circle.
