It all started at work, on a day I’ll never forget. It was my first day taking calls, and this customer came in hot, absolutely shredding me to pieces. Meanwhile, Willie had already been there for a while and was totally killing it. As soon as the call ended, all I could do was cry—straight up meltdown mode. I was standing there, talking and crying to my trainer, Angela, about how brutal the call had been. The door to the room swung open and in walked Willie, all cool and confident—per the usual. He walked right up to Angela’s desk, glanced over at me, and our eyes locked. He could see I was a completely distraught, so he asked, “What’s wrong?” through that calm, soothing voice of his. I told him about the call, still sniffling like a mess, and he just paused for a second, then asked, “Do you want a hug?” And without a second thought, I replied, “Yes!”—tears streaming down my face, but something about the way he asked made it feel like everything was going to be okay. And let me tell you, the hug was the cherry on top... when he hugged me, he smelled SOOOO good! I swear, it was like time stood still for a second. In that moment, something clicked inside me. I just knew. He was going to be mine. Fast forward a week or so to April 22, 2019—he asked me to his, and well, we've been locked in ever since. Genesis 2:18
