Our story began before we officially started our story. We first crossed paths a few years ago at a bar. It was nothing more than a brief moment and a quick thought from Justine that Lee was very cute. Life carried on, and that moment simply tucked itself away. Fast forward to 2021. We saw each other again at a birthday party. Lee only stopped in for a short time, and we exchanged just a simple “hi,” but for Justine, it was enough to spark a memory of that cute guy from before. The next day, she decided to shoot her shot and added him on Snapchat, though Lee had absolutely no idea who she was at first. Eventually it clicked, and we still laugh about that part. What started as one small snap soon became something much bigger. We became each other’s favorite person, best friends, partners, and now soon, husband and wife. Together, we’ve built a beautiful life. We are raising our sweet little boys Henry and Weston. All of this, a home, a family, a forever, all from one brave Snapchat message.

In July 2025, we returned to one of our favorite places, Fernie, B.C. It’s a peaceful little mountain town we’ve always loved, especially in the summer when the trails are quiet and the scenery feels endless. Three years earlier, we had hiked the Goldilocks Loop via the Spineback Trail at Island Lake Lodge, a challenging but breathtaking trail that quickly became one of our top hikes. This time, we were back with our son, Henry, ready to make new memories in a place that already meant so much to us. Lee insisted we do the same hike again, the same trail, the same views, the same rock we’d once stood on together to take a photo. As we reached that familiar spot, surrounded by the mountains and the stillness of nature, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the perfect moment! Simple, heartfelt, and a full circle moment.
