Unlike many couples, Justin’s very first message was a completely unhinged link to a random song with absolutely no preview, explanation, or context whatsoever. The song was “Track Star” by Mooski (since she was a D1 Syracuse track athlete). Somehow, Victoria decided this mysterious link from a stranger was worth opening and, even more surprisingly, she responded. Justin took that as all the encouragement he needed. Not long after, Justin challenged Victoria to a 1-on-1 race. To this day, Justin maintains that he could beat her. This race has still not happened, which he believes is the only reason his claim remains technically undefeated. From there, Justin started sending Victoria a “song of the day,” and somewhere beyond the music recommendations, we started realizing we actually had a lot in common. Music turned into food, food turned into trying new restaurants, and before long, ordering multiple entrées “for the table” became standard operating procedure. We were both living in Los Angeles at the time, and from pretty early on, being together just felt easy. We made each other laugh, loved a lot of the same things, and quickly became the couple always planning the next dinner, trip, or completely random activity. Eventually, after one MBA was finally finished, we moved across the country to New York City. Not long after, our family grew when we got Juice, our toy poodle. Justin spent roughly a year insisting that we absolutely needed a dog. Victoria eventually gave in, and unfortunately for her, Justin was completely right. Juice immediately became our actual child, landlord, supervisor, and CEO of the household.
Five years later, life looks a little different again. We’re navigating another MBA, another move, and now a wedding thanks to a “family photoshoot” in Costa Mujeres that turned out to be something slightly more important. Victoria’s mom and Nana were both in on it. Victoria was not. After spending the afternoon stuffing her face with chicken wings, laying in the sun, and having absolutely no idea what was coming, Victoria eventually made her way down to the beach, saw the flowers, and realized this was definitely not just a family photoshoot. Justin proposed, Victoria said yes, there were some tears, and one of the first questions afterward was: “Wait… are we still doing the family photoshoot?” Now we’re somehow planning a wedding in the middle of everything else, Juice still believes the world revolves around him, and Justin still thinks he could win that race. We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you at Southern Highlands in Las Vegas.
