Our Story

Covalently Bonded. No Catalyst Required.

(Peer-Reviewed) In November 2022, a second-year Justin decided to do some vacation work in a postgraduate lab. Enter Tara, then an MSc student assigned as his lab supervisor. Her job: show him the ropes, keep the experiments running smoothly, and, most importantly, make sure nothing explodes! By the following year, Justin returned—this time as a part-time research assistant in the very same research group. What began as a perfectly stable, platonic solution slowly turned into something more reactive. On the 15th July 2023, Justin strengthened their bond, by asking Tara to be his girlfriend. Turns out their chemistry wasn’t just theoretical—it was reproducible, exothermic, and surprisingly well-balanced. After careful observation (and zero safety violations followed), the data was clear: this bond was covalent.[1] Justin proposed on 15 March 2025, proving once and for all that this reaction had reached equilibrium (and it strongly favours forever)! Now, they’re ready to take their most successful collaboration out of the lab and into real life—no supervision required. [1] For our non-chemistry family and friends: A covalent bond is one of the strongest chemical bonds to exist in nature. :)
