we're getting married!

The story of our relationship is a simple one and begins the way most do: when boy meets girl. JUSTIN BOURGUIGNON was a mild-mannered young man living with his parents in Charlestown, MA. He was a nice, intelligent boy, but he wasn't especially popular with the ladies his age. One fateful day, at a birthday party in Boston, he was greeting his hostess when he was suddenly bitten by the love bug. Spotting a beautiful girl across the room named SHELLEY YOUNG, Justin struck up a conversation with her and learned her likes, dislikes, and Hogwarts house (Slytherin, much to her disappointment). They chatted the evening away, but at the end, when she stepped out the door and into the wintry night, Justin missed his shot to ask the lovely lady her number. Disappointed, he left, unsure if he'd see her again or if she cared about him the same way. As fate would have it, Shelley couldn't quite get him out of her head! She sent a Facebook message and they became friends. Then they entered a confusing game of will-they-won't-they, in which Shelley battled her mind (which told her he was young and too different for her) and her heart (which told her that he was special and that she felt like she had always known him). She kept him at arm's length, but found herself inviting him to events with friends and family all the same... During this time, Justin tried to win her heart, and all the while he was experiencing uncanny changes. He suddenly found himself clinging to every message & text with the greatest of ease. And when it was time for him to respond, he had the speed of 10 men! What was this transformation, and why was it happening?

With stubborn consistency, Justin continued trying to win Shelley's heart. Finally, he found success when she agreed to meet him for dinner at PAPAGAYOS, a local Mexican restaurant. After a sometimes awkward first date, they agreed to another, and then another. The two began to date, and experienced superhero movies and horror flicks together. They attended friends' weddings, shared favorite sitcoms and foods, went on road trips and traveled to far-flung locales. In this time, Justin discovered even more abilities. He gradually grew the strength to open himself up to her, and developed a keen "Shelley Sense": he could detect her upset emotions / danger, even when not in plain sight! The two grew close, met each other's families, and then fell in love. Their love endured when Justin moved to California, and it became even more powerful once Shelley joined him a year later. Their lives were becoming more and more entwined. It seemed like nothing could bring this devoted duo down. However, things took a turn for the worse when the two were pulled into a deadly situation...

Now in the Bay Area, Justin gained friends and allies. But while walking home from Google one night, holding his to-go box of dinner in his left hand and a phone full of memes in his right, Justin was attacked. It was his mortal enemy, NORMAN OSBORN! After a furious fight, Justin survived, and his nemesis was left in the hospital with significant injuries. Osborn later recovered, but he had lost his memory due to amnesia. Things were quiet for a while, but a series of personal and familial setbacks drove Osborn into a nervous breakdown. It was then that his memories returned -- he remembered who he really was and what had happened to him. Furious, Osborn returned with a vengeance. Striking in the night, he kidnapped Shelley to lure Justin to the top of the Golden Gate Bridge for a showdown. Justin was forced to face his foe, and fierce combat ensued. In the end, Justin won, leaving Osborn unconscious on the floor. Relieved, Justin knew he had to seize his moment before it was too late. He pulled out the engagement ring he'd purchased in total secrecy, knelt down, and proposed to his future wife. It was time to demonstrate his lifelong commitment to her with holy matrimony. But before Shelley could say "I do," a small child appeared from behind Justin and tossed a frisbee into the back of his head! Confused, Justin turned around. It was then that a desperate Osborn broke free and pushed Shelley off of the Golden Gate bridge! Justin rushed to save her by diving off the bridge, but his sudden catch and the shock of her fall were too much. Shelley died, her life ending in his very arms. Howling with grief and rage, Justin swore revenge against Osborn -- the monstrous GREEN GOBLIN -- and he vowed to end this fight between them once and for all. ...Wait, I think I... lost track of this story at some point.
