Our venue is located in Lakewood, Washington, approximately 20 minutes south of Tacoma and 45 minutes from SeaTac airport. We recommend lodging with or near your party (if applicable) in the Tacoma area and suggest carpooling to the venue. Tacoma's hotel selection is less-than-impressive, but the local AirBnB rentals are often cozy and scenic. The wedding party will be staying near Puget Sound University.

Our favorite Seattle destination is Pike Place Market. For those who don't know, Pike Place is a large, open-air (covered) market in the heart of Downtown Seattle and home to the flagship Starbucks Coffee shop. In addition to breathtaking views of the Puget Sound, Pike Place offers: - Fresh-caught seafood - Organic produce - Souvenirs - Handmade art - Artisanal products - Local honey - Apparel - Coffee - Fresh flowers - Gifts - Restaurants - Food stalls - Handmade pasta - Baked goods - Farm-fresh eggs - Collectibles - Books - & more.

There are plenty of things to do in Seattle! We love the Chihuly glass museum, which is right below the famous Space Needle. If you're feeling outdoorsy, there are several guided fishing trips and whale-watching tours on the water, or scenic nature walks for those more inclined to stay on land. If you want to bring the outdoors indoors, you have options. The Seattle Aquarium is minutes from Pike Place, and on certain Saturdays, you can reserve a ticket to explore The Spheres—Amazon's literal corporate offices encased in a giant, lush, self-sustaining glass terrarium.

Gamblers, listen up! The stretch between Seattle and Tacoma hosts a massive casino, The Emerald Queen. It seems like a great place to win or lose a ton of money. Point Defiance is home to a stunning park and rose garden, so you can get your steps in without sacrificing aesthetics. There's also a zoo and aquarium, if that's more your speed. Personally, we (specifically, me, Savannah) are enamored with the grocery stores. Their produce is almost annoyingly organic, and they use minimal plastic packaging. You can buy one single snow pea if you'd like. They also have a great selection of mushrooms and asparagus (try the purple asparagus!). Honestly, the best parts of Tacoma are outside, which is why we chose to have our wedding in the area. There are so many botanical gardens, nature trails and parks to explore, including Mount Rainier, if you're up for it.
