How We Met

According to Her

A Modern Day Romance We met on Bumble, and the first interaction was a hit and miss, but for some magical reason we came back around to another. The second connection was everything. We were smitten and couldn't get enough of each other going on dates that felt like they lasted for weeks. After a few months we took our relationship to the next level with a trip to Australia to visit Allison (Groomsmaid) and figured if we could make it traveling together for 12 days, we could make anything. The trip had some twists and turns for sure but we got through them and had an amazing time together, and I knew this was the man I wanted to travel with for the rest of my life. I knew I loved him when we traveled to Houston for an Astros game. The way up I remember thinking to myself, I would go anywhere with him. Later that night I ended up waking him up in the middle of the night just to tell him I loved him. I felt like if I didn't tell him I was going to burst. Since then our love has only gotten stronger and even more amazing. Justin made me believe dreams aren’t just for the movies, and very quickly turned my life into a romantic comedy. This was the man who makes me feel amazing every time we are together, and loves me exactly as I am. The same man who took me on adventures I never thought possible and will randomly dance with me, wherever we are. When he took me to Disney World I have never felt more loved and seen. We can be big kids together, we support each other in everything we do, and he makes me feel like anything is possible. I cannot wait to see what new adventures come our way.

How We Met

According to Him

Meeting Her for the First and Last Time When searching for the person to spend the rest of your life with, it seems like an impossible mission, almost doomed to fail. I was still searching for the unattainable when I happened upon this girl on Bumble with the most beautiful smile and having the most fabulous time in her life in photo after the next. I had to talk to her, and we did for a moment until I found a way to mess it up, and it went silent between us. There was this feeling of unfinished business that I couldn’t shake from that brief encounter in February. I finally had the nerve to contact her, and for some crazy reason, she replied. After that second chance, we’ve talked nonstop to this day. We had this very natural dialogue that felt think we’ve known each other for years and I knew this had to be something special. Our first date was basically a week long. We couldn’t get enough of one another. Plus, she was going on vacation with her family for a few days, and I had to get as much time as I could with her, I was starting to get this bubbly feeling. Inside I knew she was a keeper when she kicked my ass at table shuffleboard on our second date. The third date was an undeniable experience that ended with dancing in the parking lot of Hopdoddy. It was funny, romantic, and beautiful, all at the same time. She had made a deep impact on me at that point. Every day after that first date was as magic as the next. I couldn’t wait for the next time I made her laugh, caused her to give me that what the hell look, and those long pauses of looking into her beautiful brown eyes. The moment that I knew I loved that woman, Nichol Rodriguez, was when we at the McNay Museum, about a month into dating, and we were in the huge hanging lights installation. Something about the lights starting from darkness turning into these beautiful glowing lights was an accurate depiction of how my heart was and what has become with Nichol. Love you now and forever.
