How to get to DTLA from the airport by metro

Metro is the most cost-efficient way to get to downtown. It will cost $1.75 one way (don't need to buy a card if you get the metro card in your wallet). Follow these easy instructions for a smooth ride: *From the terminal, find the pink posts at street level and get picked up by the Metro shuttle. This shuttle goes to each terminal then on to the train. *From the shuttle, go up the escalator to enter the C + K line station. I recommend taking the K line. Board on the side that says Expo/Crenshaw. *At Expo/Crenshaw, get off and go up to the street. You will most likely be able to follow the crowds to the E line. For downtown, cross Crenshaw where you'll see the E line station going in the direction of East LA. *Get off at 7th/Metro station. Take the exit up toward Hope Street. All of the hotel options are 2 to 4 blocks away.
