Justin and Megan met playing sand volleyball at their church's young adult ministry. Megan was on a "dating hiatus" and told Justin's roommate, Justin P, that she would not be dating anyone for a while. Justin P had given Justin's number to Megan, which she held onto for a while. Justin asked Megan out on a date after her "dating hiatus" had ended and they have been happily together ever since.

Justin and Megan seemed to be having a "normal day" with plans to go to Cheekwood Harvest and dinner afterwards. It was slightly raining at the time, so Cheekwood remained open and they got to explore the beautiful gardens. After Cheekwood, they did not go to dinner. Instead, Justin turned right (where Megan thought he was supposed to turn left) and ended up at Percy Warner park. Justin proposed to Megan on the steps of Percy Warner, where they had their first date. It was a full circle moment- even down to the rain! It rained on the first date, the first visit to Cheekwood last November, and on the proposal date this September!
