We met back in August 2016 during our senior year of high school in the most random way. A mutual friend introduced us as we were walking into our 7th-period physics class—one we didn’t even realize we shared. Right away, I noticed how kind he was and couldn’t forget his smile. He definitely caught my attention. Not long after that, we ended up in the same science group, and that’s when everything really started. Between experiments and classwork, we talked more, started texting a lot, and slowly got to know each other. He recommended me anime (Tokyo Ghoul was the first), and with every conversation, our connection just kept growing. Eventually, he asked me out… over text. I was surprised and excited, but I made him ask me again in person just to be sure it was real. On September 30, we officially became a couple. Since then, we’ve been inseparable—growing together, laughing nonstop, and building something really special that all started with a smile, a science class, and one simple introduction that changed everything.
We first met through a friend I knew from middle school. She introduced me to Marcelina, and my first thought was, ‘Damn, she’s cute’ I didn’t even realize we had the same science class. We didn’t talk much after that until our science teacher put us in a group project together. There was another girl in the group, but honestly, we mostly just talked to each other. After a bit, we found out we both watched anime, so I told her to check out Tokyo Ghoul since I was watching it at the time. She watched it and told me she liked it. Now the sound track “ Unravel “ reminds her of me. After texting for a while, I realized I actually liked her—not just because I was attracted to her, but because I genuinely liked talking to her. We texted a lot, so I told her I liked her and that we should get together. She didn’t believe me, so I asked her in person like she wanted. She took forever to answer, so I told her it was cool if she didn’t want to—we could just be friends (even though that was never going to happen). Eventually she said yes, and that was the beginning of us.
