Our Proposal
On Saturday February 15 2025, Lindsay and I got engaged! Knowing our mutual love of the cold, the Carnaval de Québec seemed like the perfect place to do it. I also roped-in our more warm-blooded friends Florencia Feleder and Lauren Williams into joining for the surprise proposal.
There were many challenges along the way. A serious snowstorm made driving through the High Peaks scary at times. And, avoiding Flo and Lauren so we didn't run into each other on our respective Valentine's Day date nights felt like a spy movie.
Finally, with both manufactured nonchalance and urgency on my part, Lindsay and I drove to the Hôtel de Glace . Having made our friends wait nearly an hour in the coldest weather I think any of us have experienced, I pushed Lindsay towards the bar where I arranged for our friends to surprise us. I got down on one knee, rushed through half of my speech, and in a whirlwind of emotions Lindsay put her beautiful ring on the wrong hand.
