It's happening!

Once upon a time (about 24 years ago) I got hired at the local Sunoco by Charlie Gang. I only worked Friday and Saturday nights, and remember the highlight of my weekend was when Justin would stop in during one of my shifts. See, I had a crush on him, but was a bit too shy to say anything. During that winter that I worked there, I remember when weather was cold and snowy, and roads were bad, he followed me home a couple of times to make sure I made it home safe. I should have realized then, that he had a little crush on me too. He never said anything that led me to think that. My poor attempts at flirting appeared to be ignored. So, life went on. We bumped into each other at random times over the years. It always brightened my day to see his smile. Then, in May 2013, I ran into him several times within just a week or two and thought it must be a sign! I was going to text him to find out how life was going, but it turns out, I didnt have his number in my phone! So, I pulled up my Facebook and sent him a message. We chatted a bit and I got his phone number! After finding out he was single, and so was I, it seemed like fate had put me back on the path from nearly 20 years earlier. And made my mind up, I wasn't going to be too shy to speak up this time, so I asked him out on a date. The rest is history.

Holidays are a busy time for our family, like most people. We usually spend Christmas eve at my folk's, then Christmas day at his folk's. By evening bnb on Christmas eve, we are tired and just want to sit together on the couch and relax. Well, on the evening of Christmas day, 2016, as we just sat down to get comfy, Justin reached into the console and said, I have one more thing for you." And handed me a wrapped package. I laughed and thought, this will be good because he waited until all the family festivities were done. It was maybe 8"x4" and was soft. I unwrapped it to find a shirt that said, "I never dreamed I'd end up marrying a super sexy, bearded, beer chugging badass, but here I am living the dream!" My initial response was to tell him it wasn't nice to joke like that if he didn't mean it. Then he reached down beside him and pulled out a small square present! I still thought he was messing with me. I opened it, and it WAS a ring box! When I opened it, I saw a tiny post it note that said "Will you marry me?" 💍 He really decided that he wants to keep me!
