Leah and I first met in the summer of 2011 through a mutual friend. After months of subtle flirting, late night conversations and blatant romantic interest in one another we began dating in early 2012. I can count the days spent apart from her since then on one hand. Since the moment that she stepped into my life, I am richer because of it. Well i recently found myself in the middle of a jewelry store. Alone and in unchartered waters, I found the perfect ring! Thinking i was done i soon found out i now have to choose the diamond itself. Well, after an hour of in store training, viewing of countless little stones and a few dumbfounded questions on my part, I would like to think of myself as a bit of an uncertified expert on the four C’s of diamonds now. The plan was simple. Our june trip to maui is hands down the perfect place to pop the question. “Will you marry me” as the sun comes up over the Pacific on the summit of Haleakala. The unexpected happened! I left town for a few days on a business trip and when i came home, i knew that i couldn’t spare another second. I made the call to Leah’s father to ask for his blessing. I found myself on one knee looking up at her, surrounded by friends and family with ed sheeran playing in the background of the place we first met and had our first kiss, she said yes! I came home today to one of my first Honey do lists, which includes writing this. But i feel lucky to be here and i do it happily for her, she is my best friend, she is my everything, she is my wife to be.
