If flying from out of town, best to look for flights to Lynchburg, VA. Lynchburg is about an hour away from the venue, Parkway Marina. Roanoke, VA is another airport about an hour away but after doing some research Lynchburg seems to have better flight options. Airbnb and Vrbo will give you good options of places to stay while at Smith Mountain Lake, however, it is a large lake. If working with a relator or looking on Airbnb or Vrbo you will want to check the distance of location in comparison to the venue, Parkway Marina. The marina can seem close by water but by car could take 45 minutes to an hour, so keep that in mind while picking a place to stay. There are no hotels by the lake but below are two hotels that are close to the Lynchburg airport and on the way from Raleigh in Gretna, VA. Also listed are condos on the water and a realty company if interested in renting a house.
