Fighting Creek Nature Trail 1.2 miles | Easy | 1 hour Join us for an optional day hike in the Smoky Mountains during the wedding weekend! We'll explore the Fighting Creek Nature Trail, a 1.2-mile all-ages loop starting near the Sugarlands Visitor Center. This gentle trail features babbling streams, towering trees, and an optional detour to a beautiful waterfall. Feel free to bring your own lunch and water bottle, and we'll picnic together at a scenic spot at the end of the hike! You can also take some time to explore the Sugarlands Visitor Center, which offers great exhibits and information about the park. Prefer a more challenging hike? This event is nice casual attire. We will be inside for dinner, but there will be an opportunity to sit around a fire outside after dinner, so bring a sweater!
There will be New-Mexican style Fajitas served with sides of queso, guacamole, red salsa and chips. Guests who have dietary restrictions will be able to add or omit toppings. We will have bar service with complimentary drinks to choose from including water, specially designed non-alcoholic mixed drinks, and a signature cocktail. As the evening settles, our resident storyteller will take the stage. Linda Poland, known as “The Jonesborough Flame,” is a founding member of the Jonesborough Storyteller’s Guild. As the Resident Storyteller of Jonesborough since 1997, she has earned national acclaim for her award-winning storytelling tour programs. Linda’s storytelling journeys have taken her from Ireland to Israel and most recently to Turkey. She teaches the art of storytelling all over the world, and we are so lucky to have her with us! Please feel welcome to stay and enjoy music and a fire after the storytelling program, or tuck in for an earlier night! We can't wait to see you!

Dressy-Wear what makes you feel most happy/beautiful: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits, slacks, cocktail dresses, sun dresses, and pantsuits. Don't feel comfortable in any of those options? Wear what makes you feel confident! We love you and are so glad you're coming however you choose to adorn yourself for this party!
A few group pictures will be taken following the wedding ceremony with the bridal couple and guests, followed by a cocktail hour. Guests are welcome to mingle with each other during this hour, stroll around the grounds and enjoy the day. A luncheon will follow in Walden Hall.
