FAQs

Question

Where should I RSVP for the big day?

Answer

Right here! There is a tab for RSVP at the top of the website. If you have any questions contact Christopher or Justin.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We ask to have everyone RSVP by December 15. That way we can let all the vendors know an accurate count. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

If you are participating Saturday evening's activities, then you should arrive around check-in (4pm). If not, arrive by 2pm on Sunday to participate in all the day's activities. We will be around from Friday afternoon on, so feel free to make it a great weekend in the Hudson valley!

Question

Do I need any special pass to enter The Thayer Hotel?

Answer

To enter the hotel - NO. For those of you 17 years and older, if you want to go anywhere else on Post, you will need a West Point Local Area Credential (LAC) from the Visitor Center. To obtain that credential, you will need either... 1) A Passport OR 2) A Driver's License, AND one of the following... Select university, library, or school cards containing a photograph, name, and expiration date. Non-government photo identification with a person’s name and address. Birth certificate or document with a person’s full name and date of birth. Utility bill or other documentation showing the person's name and address of principal residence. Vehicle registration with name and address.

Question

Are Kids invited to the Reception?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! If needed, we’ve booked a babysitter to make that a reality.

Question

CAN I BRING A DATE?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you. There is a place on the RSVP portion of the website for you to acknowledge your guest.

Question

WHAT’S THE DRESS CODE?

Answer

Cocktail, please. But we want you to feel comfortable, so if those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, let it all hang loose.

Question

Can I take pictures during your wedding?

Answer

We invite you to be truly present at our ceremony, and respectfully request that all cameras and phones be turned off. We look forward to sharing our professional photos with you after the wedding. However, feel free to take pictures during our reception and share them on social media using the hashtag #ittakes02
