How It All Started

March 7th, 2018

Justin and I met on a dating app. Our first date was at Lewis BBQ because he wanted me to try Carolina BBQ. It doesn't compare to Kansas City BBQ but the company was great. We quickly bonded over college basketball and lucky for us, our two teams, Kansas and West Virginia, played each other for our third date. We were pretty much inseparable since!

The Proposal

September 8th, 2019

Justin and I took a trip to Jacksonville, FL to see the Kansas City Chiefs play in the home opener at the Jacksonville Jaguars. We almost didn't make it to Jacksonville. We drove for nearly 4 hours when my car started shaking. After a not so quick stop at an auto body shop, I had to buy all new tires because mine were apparently about to split. A very stressful start to what turned out to be the best weekend of our lives (so far). We went to dinner Saturday night, after a quick stop at Target (yours truly forgot to pack an outfit for dinner). Little did I know that Justin had the ring with him the entire time on our walk to dinner, at dinner, and on our walk back to the hotel. He didn't propose that night because "the lighting wasn't right" and he knew I "wanted a picture." The next day we took a riverboat over from our hotel to the stadium. Justin insisted on getting a picture by the water, which was very strange for him. We had another couple take our photo. Justin asked for one more picture. I was about to tell him to hurry up because it was 100 + degrees out but before I could get those words out he was down on one knee. Obviously I said yes!
