Shoutout to my cousin, Sadie, for being our matchmaker! In November of 2016, I got a text from her saying a boy named Justin Wilson from her school wanted me to add him on Snapchat (lol). Of course fifteen year old me added him because new friends are cool, right? Little did I know we would start talking every day. We went on our first date and had so much fun together. We eventually started hanging out more. On February 13, 2017, Justin and I met at the Stop-A-Minit on Belton Anderson Hwy after his baseball practice. We had plans to go to dinner at Sake Zen. When I got in the car, he had a teddy bear, flowers, a card, a box of chocolates, a necklace from his little brother, Weston, and a baseball that said “You’ve caught my attention, be mine and let me steal your heart.” I thought it was super cute since it was the day before Valentine’s Day. I was so nervous and a little shy, but I said yes, and I’m so glad that I did!
Let me just start by saying I had no idea I was about to get engaged. It was a Saturday afternoon, and we were having family pictures made at Generostee Creek and then going to eat dinner with both of our families afterwards. This wasn’t unusual as we do things together all of the time. We had been taking pictures for about an hour or so when our photographer asked me to take some pictures by myself because she wanted some for her page. I thought nothing of it because she has taken my pictures like this before and mentioned she wanted to take them again. She asked me to turn around and then spin on the count of 3, so we could get a good candid picture. When I turned around, Justin was down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in complete shock. Of course I said YES! I was so excited! It could not have been any more perfect. I knew I wanted to marry this man when I was 15 years old, and now I finally get to!
