It is with great concern for the health of our family and friends that we have come to the decision to postpone our Oregon wedding celebration. With the rising cases of Covid-19 and having guests scattered across the country, we feel it would be too risky to ask our loves ones to travel and attend our wedding. Save the dates and invitations have already been sent but keep an eye on the mail for the change notifications coming soon. Our crystal ball may not know what the state of the world will be, but one thing is clear, we will be wed and begin our happily every after. On September 19th, 2020 we will be married in an intimate ceremony at Wormsloe Historic Site in Savannah. On September 25th, 2021 we will celebrate our one year anniversary with our ceremony and reception surrounded by our loved ones. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but the health and well being of our loved ones is our top priority. We look forward to celebrating with you all.
Justin was stationed in Washington and out on the town with friends. Alyce was living in Alabama, home for the holidays, and out for a girls' night. The location was Ground Kontrol, an arcade bar in downtown Portland. Alyce just finished ordering food and left to head back to her friends. When she turned around, she saw Justin. She grabbed him by the tie, said "you're cute," and wandered back to her friends. Awhile later Justin came to the table with a handful of quarters and asked if Alyce would like to play some games. Lots of games, talking, and laughing they found out Justin would be headed to Alabama for flight school so they exchanged numbers and Alyce promised to show him around. It took a couple years before Justin would eventually move down to Alabama for flight school and the two stayed connected through social media. Something popped up on Alyce's Facebook showing Justin tagged in a photo in Destin, FL. This sparked Alyce to send Justin a message. Messaging led to texting. Texting led to phone calls. And phone calls led to facetime and eventually a visit. Alyce drove the 4.5 hours down to see Justin at Fort Rucker and the two were quickly smitten and the rest is history. Alyce and Justin moved to Savannah, GA together in January 2018 after he graduated from flight school.
Alyce and Justin just finished closing on their new house. An anticlimactic event considering our closing attorney wasn't the most patient or friendly. Frustrated with the closing process Alyce was annoyed and tense. Justin gently suggested they go to the new house and check things out, it took a little convincing to get Alyce to agree we had in fact bought a house and this is a positive. Realizing her frustration she swung by the store to buy a bottle of bubbly and some glasses to do a little celebrating at the house. Arriving at the house their friend Katie was waiting. No surprise as they've talked about having her take some cheesy new homeowner pictures. Pop the bottle, take some pics, and try the keys! A little celebration followed by a house tour starting upstairs and working their way down to the kitchen. Little did Alyce know, there was a surprise waiting. She rounded the corner and immediately started the famous ugly crying and happy tears. Justin gained his composure and proposed by finishing with "I didn't want to live a night in this house with you, without you knowing I'm in this forever. Will you marry me?" Of course it was a yes! That same weekend Alyce and Justin moved in to their new home happily engaged.
