A must-visit spot for lunch is Jon’s Roast Beef, owned by Bill, who quickly became one of Justin’s “close friends” after realizing Justin can’t visit the lake without ordering at least three sandwiches per day. It’s become such a running joke that everyone just assumes multiple Jon’s runs are part of the itinerary. With plenty of options and Bill’s talent for crafting the perfect sandwich, Jon’s has become a staple stop. In fact, on Justin and Alison’s very first trip to the lake, they enjoyed Jon’s Roast Beef by the waterfront at The Margate—and it’s been a must-have ever since.
A sweet stop for all ages, Kellerhaus in Laconia is known for its rich, creamy ice cream, decadent chocolates, and nostalgic candy, it’s the perfect spot to indulge during your weekend at the lake. Alison's mom and grandma also loved everything Kellerhaus had to offer during their visit while touring wedding venues. Justin's favorite is the milk chocolate covered pretzels and Alison's favorite is the dark chocolate covered oatmeal creme pie, but they both always make sure they go home with a jar of their homemade hot fudge.

A classic Truedson tradition, Pirate’s Cove Mini Golf has been a favorite outing ever since Justin's dad Jeff and his uncle Dave started to take Justin, his brother Matt, and his cousins. Be sure to ask Justin's uncle Dave about the Planet of the Apes story!
Mount Major in Alton is a beloved 1.5-mile hike offering some of the most breathtaking views of Lake Winnipesaukee. On their very first trip to the lake, Justin took Alison on this “easy” hike—though Alison admits she was terrified he might break up with her a day after he asked her to be official, as she barely made it to the top with her face bright red. The ascent took them an intense three hours, but the trek down was a speedy 30 minutes, motivated by the promise of a well-earned stop at Jon’s Roast Beef.
Enjoy fresh, flavorful meals right on the water! Part of the Mill Falls collection, Town Docks is the perfect spot to soak in Meredith’s lakeside charm while indulging in classic favorites and catching stunning sunset views. This is also where Justin and his Uncle Dave enjoyed a meal after Uncle Dave hurt his ankle on Mimosa Monday and had to sit out of the group’s adventure that day.
Upscale dining meets breathtaking lakefront scenery! The Lake House Grill offers seasonal dishes, a warm atmosphere, and a spot where guests can savor every bite while gazing out over the water. Located at the ceremony and reception site, this is a great option for those staying on property.

A favorite for Justin's cousin Nikki and his Aunt Stacey—the fish tacos are a must! And don’t miss the legendary story from a heavy Mimosa Monday: Justin and Uncle Dave were playing foosball in the back when Justin challenged Dave to take his shirt off if he scored…well, Dave scored, ran shirtless around the restaurant, and had no shame whatsoever. Ask the couple for more hilarious stories about Cactus Jack's!
A lively steakhouse with a fun, energetic vibe. T-Bones now features an outdoor patio with amazing views of the lake, making it perfect for a hearty meal, a casual night out with friends, and soaking in the beautiful Lakes Region scenery. The couple’s favorite! Located in the Lake Opechee Inn & Spa, O Steaks & Seafood offers fresh seafood, perfectly cooked steaks, and a cozy yet elegant atmosphere—ideal for a memorable night out. Better yet, as you can see from the photo, this is where Justin and his cousin-in-law Marissa have enjoyed multiple glasses of cold milk, despite Alison’s disapproval, after their delicious meals.
A casual spot with delicious breakfast food and a welcoming atmosphere. According to Alison, Bay Gull's is a requirement when you visit the lake, similar to Justin's requirement of Jon's Roast Beef! The couple’s go-to order is an onion bagel toasted with cream cheese and a cinnamon-sugar bagel toasted with cream cheese, which they split so they can enjoy both a salty and a sweet flavor.
Classic diner comfort at its finest! From hearty breakfasts to satisfying lunches, Union Diner is the perfect spot for a quick bite or a cozy meal with friends and family. Fun fact: Justin's mom Linda's favorite lunch item is the lobster stew—definitely worth a try!
