As a lot of modern-day love stories go, Justin and I “swiped right” on a website called OkCupid. Justin and I met in person after talking for a couple weeks at a casual Irish Pub in Waltham, MA. The conversation flowed easily and there was no “awkward phase” of the night. We then decided after dinner to go bowling and play pool where we were able to show off our competitive nature and talk about our love for sports. There was an instant connection and the rest was history.
Justin and I had plans to meet up with some close friends and head up to Portsmouth, New Hampshire for the day. We did some errands beforehand which actually resulted in me taking him ring shopping just so I can “get sized,” all while he had the ring in his pocket. When we got to Portsmouth, we walked around for a bit and when Justin asked if I wanted to take a picture I said in a sarcastic tone “no I will wait for a better setting,” and threw him for a complete loop. Justin liked to joke whenever we were at nice place by saying “this would be a nice place to propose,” so of course he said that after and I gave him a dirty look completely unaware that's where he was planning to propose. Justin and our friends then scrambled for a quick plan b before we went to lunch. When asked to go explore the beach, hangry me was upset but went along with the plan. Justin then asked to take a picture with me, which I guess was my better setting and he got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him.
