Our love story began about 2 years ago in Kona, Hawaii. It was a typical stunning Hawaiian evening at the YWAM Kona campus and Justin was just getting back from the gym. Karlie had been sitting in a car catching up with a mutual friend nearby when they both saw Justin walking by. This mutual friend called out to Justin to come over and say hi. That’s when Karlie and Justin first locked eyes with each other. :) Justin thought Karlie was extremely beautiful and Karlie thought Justin was cute. So their friend, being the solid wingwoman she is, said she had to go home, which made way for Justin and Karlie to be alone together to talk. There was an immediate connection and they hit it off. They spent about an hour just getting to know each before they finally called it a night. After a couple months of friendship they both admitted that there was mutual feelings for each other, which pushed their relationship to the next level. However, being that they were both preparing to lead different missions teams to different nations, they both agreed it would be best if they didn’t start dating until they had returned from their respective mission’s trips. So, after a few months of being patient and trusting the Lord’s plan, they were finally united again and officially began dating on March 7, 2024. This began a new season of truly falling in love with one another. They got to really know each other through experiencing life together; the good, the bad, and the ugly. They bonded together through their faith and walk with Jesus, and learned how to put Jesus on display to each other by sacrificially loving one another. As time progressed, they slowly started to talk about the idea of marriage. It was something they didn’t want to take lightly as this was a big commitment and they wanted to go about this prayerfully and make sure that the Lord was in this. They agreed to come back to this idea after they hit one year of dating. And that day came as they were attending a Bible school together in Nashville, Tennessee. They came together and they both felt that marriage was the direction that the Lord was leading them in. So, after receiving blessing from Karlie’s mom and step dad to marry Karlie, Justin purchased the ring and began to plan the day that he would propose. Justin knew Karlie had always wanted to go to Canada, particularly Banff National Park, and Justin had a friend there, so he made plans to go visit him on their road trip home from their Bible school. However, unbeknownst to her, Justin planned to pop the question while they were there. The Lord’s favor was on the whole process as everything all went according to the plan. On June 5, 2025 in Banff National Park, Justin got on his knee and asked Karlie to become his bride in marriage, exactly 1 year after Justin had first told Karlie he loved her (this wasn’t planned, God is just good!!!) Karlie and Justin are so incredibly excited to celebrate with you the wonderful day that they become one flesh and enter into the glorious covenant with the Lord Jesus Christ.
