BGR is the closest major airport to Bar Harbor (approx. 1 hour). American, Delta and United are the major airlines flying in and out of Bangor.

If you're connecting through Boston or flying from there directly, BHB is the closest airport (approx. 15 mins). Cape Air partners with Jet Blue to provide service to and from Boston.

PWM is a major airport in Portland with plenty of direct flights from multiple airlines. We recommend renting a car to drive to Bar Harbor (approx. 3 hours).

ISLAND EXPLORER SHUTTLE

While downtown Bar Harbor is very walkable, there is an Island Explorer Shuttle Bus system that provides free rides you can use to explore Acadia National Park and the rest of Mount Desert Island. To note, there is limited Uber and Lyft service on the island.
