Charlotte and Justin became friends in high school through connections in cross-country, classes, and the FBLA business club. After many lunches in the cafeteria and after school hang out sessions, they went to prom together and officially started dating the last month of high school. They dated through college, attending the rival schools University of Georgia and Georgia Tech. They cherished time together on weekend dates and filled in the weekdays with Skype dates. They both pursued opportunities in Atlanta after graduation, and feel like God's hand was at work in them both getting great first full-time jobs in the city! Every year together they have grown closer and more confident that their love and commitment will last any trials that come their way.
Once we both finished college, we felt like it was the right time to truly start our life together and get married. Justin worked with a Gaston family friend who is a jeweler to specially design the engagement ring, based on things he had made note of over the years that he knew Charlotte liked. He picked up the ring one Saturday, and the next Saturday they were engaged! The day of the engagement started with Charlotte going to get her hair done with Justin's sister Gaby. After that, Justin led Charlotte to believe that they, Gaby, and her fiancé, Jared, were simply going on a walk in Piedmont Park in Atlanta to fill some time before heading to a baby shower for his brother, Tony, and his wife, Anna, (which was really the next day, but Charlotte didn't know that!). Everyone walked around the park pond looking for the best view of the city. Justin asked Gaby to take a photo of he and Charlotte, and right then he pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked her to marry him! She said "OF COURSE!". He then surprised her with a lovely and fancy lunch at the Sundial restaurant, with the beautiful views of Atlanta. After lunch they were going to start sharing the exciting news with all of the families, and Justin had also sneakily planned to have everyone together for a family party to celebrate. What a happy, amazing, and fun day! Five years in the making, and it's so exciting to think that this is truly only the beginning.
