Justin: The first time I met Aliyah she was on 3 hours of sleep and fueled by adrenaline, hopes, and dreams. Even through that, she was one of the most attentive and engaging conversationalists I'd ever met. At no point during the hours and hours of conversation did I feel like I was carrying the conversation. We shared interests, thoughts, ideas, and we laughed. We laughed so hard in fact that the next day at work I still had a slight wheeze because my lungs are allergic to happiness. Aliyah: I'll never forget the first time Justin and I met. It was hot, and there was a fan blowing in fresh air and the faint sounds of the city into his studio apartment. Music played in the background while he explained linguistics and articulated thoughts with his hands. I’d never been so captivated in a conversation before; it felt like a bubble of timelessness had formed around us. I knew by the next day that I’d gone head over heels. I wrote poetry about him. My best friend heard all about him. Constantly. From day one, I wanted to stay next to him forever.
