Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jusemmy Arce and Michael Slinkard
There are so many beautiful places to visit in New Mexico. You might want to call us if you want to extend your trip beyond just our wedding. I will write here some of my recommendations for day trips throughout the state to truly experience New Mexicos Beauty. I hope you can stay and enjoy our land of enchantment!
Sandia Peak Tramway

Sandia Peak Tramway

30 Tramway Road Northeast, Albuquerque, NM 87122

If you will be leaving quickly after the wedding and only have a day or so, the tram really highlights the beauty of the Sandia Mountains. The tram at sandia peak is really an excellent way to hike a little bit, in a leisurely way. You can also enjoy a meal at the restaurant at the top of the mountain called 10-3 Make sure to call in advance as reservations for the restaurant may be required, a meal at sunset here is breathtaking!

Santa Fe

Santa Fe

Santa Fe, NM

Santa Fe is the capital of New Mexico, it is a beautiful place to shop for local New Mexico art. You can walk around and eat at tons of restaurants. There are so many options to explore here, such as the santa fe opera for a sunset concert under the open sky, or meowolf the art installation experience. Call me for more information and tips on maximizing your visit to Santa Fe.

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa

50 Los Banos Drive, Ojo Caliente, NM 87549

This place is amazing for massages and a day at a natural hot springs. You can dip in the springs, go into saunas, overall relax and unwind in the middle of the Santa Fe Mountains

Ghost Ranch

Ghost Ranch

U.S. 84, Abiquiu, NM 87510

This place was once owned by New Mexico's most famous artist Georgia O'Keefe. Fall in love with the newmexico landscape at the ghost ranch. Located in Abiquiu NM (2 hours from our home) You can ride horses and tour the ranch, go to an evening concert, and a multitude more. A wonderful day trip would include ghost ranch and the monastery in the mountains located nearby.

Monastery of Christ in the desert

Monastery of Christ in the desert

Forest Road 151, Abiquiu, NM 87510

A great addition to the ghost ranch tour, the monastery of christ in the desert is a spectacular church nestled in a very isolated mountain range in Abiquiu. The drive up the monastery is just as magical as the church itself. Be sure to give yourself time, the drive off the highway is almost 40 min deep into the brush before you reach the church, worth the drive just for the views alone!

Bandelier National Monument

Bandelier National Monument

15 Entrance Road, Los Alamos, NM 87544

Located near the famous Los Alamos National Laboratories. Bandelier is a wonderful drive, then a fantastic 1-2 hour hike through historic ancient caves. You can definitely run into wildlife here, I have personally run into 3 deer here! Beautiful place, that also sometimes has Native American displays and dances.

White Sands National Park

White Sands National Park

NM

Probably the most famous national park inside New Mexico, this is a USA bucket list place to visit. Dark skies almost always guarantee a view of the milky way, this time of year will not disappoint as the heat of the summer has faded. Please plan accordingly if you will be adding this to your travels, appropriate shoes, gear, and clothing is necessary. Remember when visiting national parks like this to bring food and water as well.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Carlsbad, NM 88220

Another national park worth visiting, this will require planning and appropriate clothing, but worth it!

For all the days along the way
