Question

Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?

Answer

Yes. Everything on the wedding day will take place at the same venue.

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

If you are driving, we have linked a location pin on the "Schedule" page to help GPS directions to the venue. If you are traveling by train, we have listed the nearest train station. Ubers/Lyfts and other ride share options are available to/from Gloucester, MA. To our guests traveling from outside the USA, we’ll reach out to you a few weeks before the wedding to confirm transportation to/from the venue for you!

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes. Complimentary valet parking is available for wedding guests. Overnight parking is $15/night. If you prefer self-parking, the town has a public meter lot across the street (3 min walk away).

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Ceremony is planned to be outdoors and reception will be indoors. If weather is not in our favor, both will be held indoors.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We don't have a strict dress code for the ceremony and reception but would love for everyone to have this night as an excuse to dress up! You’re welcome to wear semi-formal/cocktail attire (midi dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, suit and tie or dark jackets, slacks etc.) The venue is on an oceanfront that can get chilly at night - we recommend bringing a shawl or a light jacket.

Can I bring a guest and kids?

Answer

We wish we could welcome everyone, however we can only plan to accommodate those listed on the formal invitations.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

Guests are invited and welcome to enjoy cocktail hour inside in the adjoining Pavilion room before dinner and reception starts at 6:30pm.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

List any allergies on the RSVP response and we'll work with the venue on menus.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! Our wedding venue is a hotel and is offering our guests a discount until August 11th for any "Yamazaki/Smith" wedding guests looking to stay overnight on Friday. We have listed a few other local hotels nearby with different price ranges on our "Travel" page as well. There are Airbnbs and VRBO listings in Gloucester as well. If you'd like to stay at our venue, please call them directly and mention Yamazaki/Smith when booking to get the discount. Online booking isn't available over our dates. We highly recommend booking sooner rather than later as September is busy season for Gloucester. If you are traveling from outside the USA before our wedding, we will have some room blocks set up for you in Boston and Stoneham as well.

What should we do if we can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no” on the formal invitations so we can plan accordingly.

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

Please RSVP online through this website by August 25th. If you have any questions before submitting your RSVP, feel free to text one of us.
