While most of the world was learning how to make sour dough bread and binge watching Tiger King, Chris and Erin were exploring the world of online dating. Each with a radius just small enough to keep the others home out of reach, the stars aligned one fateful day. Chris was helping his sister Michelle move from her apartment just a mere 2 blocks from where Erin was sleeping off her night shift. A couple right swipes later and BOOM! It's a match! After some back and forth about go-to wedding drinks and dancing ability (ohhh the foreshadowing for the EIGHT weddings they would attend together in just that first year), Erin mustered up to the courage to ask to meet up in person. After spending all afternoon and evening together, they both knew this was going to be more than just another first date story. And on 10/10/2020, Chris asked to "make it official."

Chris and Erin's romance took off quickly. Add in weddings, beach vacations, meet the families, and a new shared apartment, we find ourselves in summer of 2022. Erin and her friend Natalie were celebrating their graduation from residency with a trip to Europe. After spending a week in the south of France, "the boys" Chris and Rob met up with them in Spain. Unbeknownst to Erin, Chris had been toting around a surprise that he kiiiinda-sorta knew what he wanted to do with. The city of Barcelona sits between a couple of mountain ranges and the Mediterranean Sea, which makes for an especially humid day in the summer. After a hike uphill to Parc del Guinardó, you get A LOT of sweat, but also beautiful 360 degree views of the city. This is where Chris decided to intimately pop the question. After a brief moment of shock and multiple "oh-my-Gods," Erin finally said yes.
