Edgewater Beach
Edgewater has hosted so many special moments for us and Ryan proposed right there on the pier! Go at night for an incredible view of the city all lit up!
Mitchell's Ice Cream (Ohio City Kitchen & Shop)
This is a MUST STOP SPOT! Mitchell's makes the best ice cream in Cleveland and maybe the world. Ryan loves trying all of the seasonal vegan flavors and Juni is a die-hard fan of getting a scoop of Dark Roast Coffee and a scoop of Prailines and Cream in a cone. They almost always have a line out the door but don't fret, those high schoolers scoop with an efficiency that would make Henry Ford blush and they keep that line moving.
Cinematheque (Cleveland Institute of Art)
This one is a recent discovery of ours! They always have cool films showing (it's where we both saw The Thief, The Cook, His Wife and Her Lover in a theater for the first time) and they even usually have intros from interesting people before-hand!
The Winchester Music Tavern
Ryan is always craving food from this bar. Sometimes we'll even brave concert crowds just to get their rosemary fries. The crowds here are some of the best in Cleveland and this is another spot with amazing bartenders.
Mahall's
We took our engagement photos in the bar in the basement (Pins and Needles) and Parky's has our favorite vegan burgers. Plus all of the bartenders who work here are amazing people. This is a go-to spot for us!
Johnny Mango
Good food, good margs, great prices. There's nothing Johnny Mango can't do in our eyes. We go here whenever we need a pick-me-up because the food is amazing but it's also surprisingly healthy. We both love the (vegetarian) pad thai. Pro Tip: the best place to park is on Bridge Ave by the library.
ABC the Tavern
This is the sister bar to our venue. They probably have the best music of all the bars in Cleveland. A perfect lowkey spot for bar food and cheap beer. If you go you have to try the fried pickles.
The Cleveland Museum of Art
Neither of us can get enough of this museum, it's so gorgeous and HUGE. If you go on a nice day you can also enjoy the yards around the museum where they will often host small art festivals!
No Class
This is where Juni drags Ryan to every June for Pride. No Class is the epitome of a punk bar. They host some of the best events, drag shows, and local bands. They have some of the best drink prices out of all of our favorite bars and this is also where we discovered our favorite vegan jerky. It's a very small bar so be ready to get cozy but if you're looking for a cool spot with cool people this is the place.
Twist Social Club
This is Cleveland's biggest gay bar and the only night club worth stepping foot into. Go at your own risk though because the DJs are really hit or miss. If you eat meat they serve food from the BBQ joint next door and the briskett is the reason Juni gained 10lbs in 2021. For the best vibes check out either brunch on Sunday or get there after 11pm on Saturday.
Hecks Ohio City
If you are looking for something a little bit more upscale this is our eternal Valentine's Day, Anniversary, and Birthday spot! They're one of those places that has a smaller menu but everything on the menu is spectacular. You should also try the coffee because they brew a custom roast and add cinnamon.
