Our Story

Every love story has a beginning — theirs began, unexpectedly, at a petrol station in Miller. Bec had just finished a gym session and stopped to fuel up. Junior, waiting in line to pay, noticed her walk past — in her gym wear, completely unaware. He recognised her from church, though they’d never actually spoken. To her, he was the quiet, shy musician who kept to himself. To him, she seemed confident — maybe even a little bossy. Later, curiosity got the better of him. Junior thought she looked really good that day, so he sent a message: “Were you at the petrol station?” (complete with the eye emoji). Bec, oblivious, replied: “Probs was, not sure.” That simple exchange sparked daily conversations. The messages didn’t stop. What began as light-hearted chats soon turned into late-night talks, spontaneous drives, and a connection that felt easy — natural — from the very beginning. As the friendship deepened, so did their feelings — though neither dared to say it out loud. Until one night, with a little liquid courage, Junior finally confessed how he felt. Bec “fell asleep” halfway through the conversation and claimed not to remember it the next day. Not to brush off his feelings, but to make sure they could talk about it properly… and soberly. From that moment on, everything shifted. The friendship became something more. Something real.

The Proposal

Junior had been planning the proposal for weeks. He secretly asked Bec’s parents for their blessing and teamed up with her sister, Victoria, to find the perfect ring — even deleting their messages to keep it all under wraps. He enlisted a proposal company to help bring the vision to life and got Bec’s brother, Chris, and sister-in-law, Jess, involved to help pull it off. The plan? Jess messaged the family, saying she and Chris were renewing their vows in the city — and that everyone had to wear white. Bec was immediately suspicious and started asking questions… but no one gave her any real answers. In the days leading up to it, she even told her brother she wasn’t going. It took some serious convincing from Victoria to get her there. Meanwhile, on the big day, Junior was already in the city — nervous, and feeling like every minute dragged on forever. Finally, Bec arrived. After a bit of wandering, she spotted Junior standing alone. “Are you proposing?” she asked, straight to the point. Laughing nervously, Junior said, “Yes,” and dropped to one knee — just as the whole family jumped out, cheering. To top it all off, he’d booked a hotel room filled with all of Bec’s favourite things: brownies, lollies, sugar-free energy drinks, and fresh roses. It was sweet, thoughtful, and totally them — and now, they can’t wait to start their forever together.
