We first met in Spanish class at BYUH, but for most of the semester, we barely spoke to each other. Then, an extra credit opportunity came up—a movie screening. Jundy, being the overachiever he is, and Isa, just wanting a better grade, both showed up. During the movie, they finally started talking. At one point, Isa asked Jundy if he spoke "Tag-a-log" (instead of Tagalog—classic dumb American moment). She proudly shared the few words she knew, and to her surprise, Jundy was slightly impressed. That conversation kicked things off. A month later, they ran into each other at the cafeteria. Jundy asked if he could sit with Isa, and this time, they actually got to talking. To their surprise, they found each other funny—despite their initial impressions (which, for the record, were "stuck-up" and "rude" haha). Wanting to keep the fun going, Isa suggested they go on a hike. She enjoyed his humor and, let’s be real, liked it when people thought she was funny too. The only problem? She said she knew where she was going, but in reality, she had no clue. After wandering through tall grass for 30 minutes, they finally gave up and headed back to campus. That night, Jundy texted Isa, saying he had fun and that they should do it again. Fast forward a bit, and they started going on “dates” (though neither of them can pinpoint exactly when the first date was). The one thing they do remember? Jundy kept asking Isa to be his girlfriend. And every time, she’d hit him with a "hmmm, I don’t know..."—which, let’s just say, was not his favorite answer. But Jundy was persistent, hoping that one day, she’d change her mind. Then came April 1st. Isa, thinking she was soooo funny, decided this was the perfect time for a little prank. When Jundy asked, as he did every day, she finally said yes. His face lit up—only for her to immediately follow up with, "April Fools!" The smile disappeared. But before he could be too disappointed, she laughed and said, "Sike. Yes!" Iconic April Fools day
