Coyote Flat is part of the Inyo National Forest. A gem of a place, hidden up in the Sierras, in between Bishop and Big Pine. It’s the perfect summer camping destination! So long as you have a vehicle capable enough to get there. We will provide guests with a map to the exact location included with the invitations!
Yes. MX/ATV/UTV are the preferred vehicles of choice to get in there. But any 4x4 rig will do. The road is rough, narrow, and winding. But don’t let that scare you! The weekend is going to be epic!
That’s an easy one to solve. We’ll have shuttles going in Friday and Saturday, before the wedding, and out Sunday afternoon! Also check out the “Travel” tab for an ATV/UTV rental referral. Please let us know in advance if you’d like a lift via shuttle! Feel free to call or text us at any time! We don't want to leave you behind! Kayla's cell: (760) 920-1733 Blake's cell: (760) 920-5592
Coyote Flat is an area that Blake and I both have a special connection to. Blake especially as he, just like his father, has been hunting, fishing, and camping out of there for years! It truly is a beautiful place! We realize that off-roading + camping isn’t exactly everybody’s cup of tea. But it’s right up Blake & I’s alley. That being said, we respect your decision not to come. In fact, while we’d love to have each and everyone of you there, we’re both well aware that some of you can’t/won’t be able to make it. And that’s okay. We love ya’ll anyways! Well wishes and a prayer will do just fine!
No, permits are not required to camp in Coyote Flat. Coyote Flat is part of the Inyo National Forest. It is public land that goes by dispersed camping rules. Simply meaning that there is no designated campground. No camp ground also means no trash removal service, tables, benches, or toilets. So pack accordingly and prepare to be self efficient during your stay!
There’s honestly no telling! Weather up in the mountains is extremely localized, often severe, and can change quickly. It’s impossible to predict accurately. We’re hoping for bright and sunny and considering the time of year, we may get just that! But, no promises! Please do be prepared for temperatures to drop significantly. Especially at night fall. Be sure to pack warmer clothes than you think you’ll need and absolutely DO pack for rain! No questions asked!
We are camping! Bring all your basic camping supplies. For example; tents, sleeping bags, camping chairs, flash lights, etc! Be sure to bring gear that is capable of withstanding strong winds and cold temperatures. Pack for below freezing and rain as we are in the mountains and weather does NOT discriminate against time of year up there. Let’s hope we won’t need it- but, best to be prepared. Also make sure to bring lots of water (or a water filter), plenty of food and snacks, and your own chairs for the ceremony!
Absolutely! We adore your children and would love to have them attend! Please DO bring them along! We plan on making this weekend a fun, family friendly, safe environment for all. Let’s have a great time! But also don't feel bad about making a date night out of it, if you'd rather!
Some- yes! We will be having a barbecue style dinner and dessert (cake + pie + s'mores) during the reception! Any other food/drinks outside of that, please bring yourself!
