Walking into Chipotle on July 1st, 2018, we never thought this would be the day that changed our forever. I [Raven] was coming from a day party at The Promotory and I [Jeremy] was getting a buy one get one from Chipotle. As I was ordering my food, I was interrupted by the pick up line “Excuse me, but where do I know you from?”. Plenty of guesses were thrown in the air: elementary school, high school, college, and Greek life but we realized in that moment that we were complete strangers to each other. After getting lost in conversation, I [Raven] realized that I didn’t know him from anywhere. I just had to say something and those were the first words that came to mind! Jeremy left his phone at home and asked me to take his number down. After hearing this and seeing the two bowls he just got, I thought he was trying to run game on me (which he wasn’t!) I took his number down and texted him. I texted her back that same night and six years later, here we are!
It’s Valentine’s Day weekend and we’re getting ready to head to dinner. Before heading to our dinner reservation, I took Raven back to that same Chipotle that we met at six years ago. I ordered two bowls and staged it to make her believe the two bowls were for a close friend. While waiting for my friend to arrive, we took a trip down memory lane to when we first met. No lie, I [Raven] fell for the memory lane trap and mentioned the same two bowls from our first encounter. He had me right where he wanted me. Minutes later, his friend arrives and gets the two bowls. As we’re getting ready to head out, a guy with a camera walks in who Jeremy knew. He briefly introduced me to him and I started to walk out the door to head to our dinner reservations. Oblivious to the photographer and why we were actually there, I heard Jeremy behind me say “Babe wait!”. I then turned around to see him down on one knee!! With a look of shock and surprise on my face, I said “What are you doing?” and that’s when I heard him say “Raven Shanice Williams, will you marry me?”. Here we are a couple of months away from getting married, celebrating our love, and saying “I do!”.
