How We Met

He asked her to Dance

Nydia, on a night out with the girls, had gone to Sevilla. She had gone almost every Wednesday, at the time, and danced the nights away. Her friends noticed a stud continuously glancing over. After a few songs, Julio walked over to introduce himself. Then he asked her to dance. The chemistry was strong and they knew it. “Tu eres bonita” were his next few words to her. The room was loud so, Nydia responded with , “huh?” They laughed and danced for the rest of the night. From then on, they were inseparable. *Fun Fact: Nydia finding this out later on in their relationship. Julio called his Dad that same night and said that he has Found the mother of his future Kids!!! (Nydia's dad has always told her, When Men know, they Know )!

The Proposal

Christmas Morning

Early morning, Christmas Day. They went to visit Tio Javier’s house for breakfast with the family. Nydia noticed that Julio was acting a little strange and too quiet. She assumed he was upset at something and kept asking him if he was okay (the real reason: he was nervous as heck!). They eventually make their way home where they would be spending the rest of their day. He leaves to go the store and came back with the most beautiful bouquet of Roses and Sunflowers. She was so surprised! In the next few minutes, it was Gift-Giving-Time! Like every year, everyone from oldest to youngest open their presents one at a time. It was Nydia’s turn. Julio’s gift to her was a huge box of thoughtful gifts (comfy clothes, notebook, jewelry, etc). Then there was another box, then another, then another. She reached the last teeny box and it was... Empty. Nydia looked up and already saw her sister, Alyssa, crying her eyes out and realized what was happening. Without another second wasted, Julio knelt on one knee, asked her one easy question and she said YES!
