Don’t let pronouncing his last name intimidate you! He’ll just tell you to call him Viz, hand you a beer and deliver his worst dad jokes to anyone within earshot. His love for Ana knows no bounds and he does his absolute best to prove everyday just how much he adores her and her daughters.
Ms. Laurie Jones
Maid of Honor
One of Ana’s best friends, they’ve known each other for 10 years while serving in the Air Force together. Laurie is lovingly referred to as “the loud one” of the group of three besties. They’ve shared some of the best and hardest times together and prove that distance is not a factor for them. Laurie is more than a friend, she has become a sister to Ana. Julio met Laurie in 2011 when the group of friends were part of a Hispanic Heritage Committee for Eglin Air Force Base. They shared a “touching” moment together at the final event when they danced and Laurie literally swept him off his feet. We’ll let them tell the rest. 😂
Mr. Joey Cabret
Best Man
So if you want the dirt on Julio, or as Joey knows him Julito as a kid, Joey is your guy. Joey and Julio have known each other since they can remember (around 4 and 5 years old). They have gone through K1-12 together, holidays, super-bowls, parties and countless sleepovers. Joey has remained Julio's closest and oldest friend for more than 30 years. The best story is the Jesus Walks Story (ask Joey) which to this day remains one of Joey's top 5 funniest moments. Ana met Joey in Killeen Texas when she visited Julio at his parents house. Joey, who also lives in their hometown of Killeen TX, immediately gave the stamp of approval when he met Ana and threatened bodily injury to Julito if he "---- this up", which if you see Joey's size is a threat worth heading.
Mrs. Nichelle Macena
Bridesmaid
Nichelle and Ana have been best friends since 2002. They shared 10 years of their military career together and never lost connection. Nichelle was Ana’s Maid of Honor for her wedding in 2012 to her late Husband, Ray, who Nichelle has considered a brother for the past 18 years. She was responsible as the match maker for Ray and Ana’s 16 year relationship and will always be affectionately known as “Chella-Rocka” in his memory. Chelle (as Ana has always known her) and Julio met after Ana began dating him. She interviewed him in the only way a best friend could and discovered his intentions were honest for both Ana and her daughters. Chelle refers to Julio as “Pickles” after he told her a slightly embarrassing story...just ask him and he’ll be happy to share.
Mr. Jeno Sanchez
Groomsman
Jeno and Julio have been Air Force brothers literally since day one. They joined BMT on the same day, went to the same tech school together and both were stationed at Dyess Air Force Base together. Jeno was there when Julio's second daughter, Anna-Maria was born. They both were also stationed at Eglin Air Force Base where they bought brand new house across the street from each other and saw the transition from teenage playboys to Dads of faith. Ana met Jeno during a visit at Eglin AFB. She was lucky enough to witness Jeno and Julio perform some of their famous karaoke hits. Ana and Julio remain very close friends with Eva and Jeno and recently celebrated with them as they welcomed their beautiful baby girl Ava into the world who also has the most amazing big brother Zayden.
