Old San Juan
Discover the wonder of an Old Spanish Colonial City! Learn it's history by visiting El Morro and El Castillo de San Cristóbal; two spanish forts that protected the city for centuries. Enjoy the nightlife at some of our favorites like La Factoría and El Cafetín.
La Placita
If you are looking for some of the best local nightlife o un perreo sucio, head to Santurce's market; La Placita. With an abundance of bars and nightclubs, the streets of Santurce become a street party on the weekends. With Salsa bands playing outside of bars, clubs blasting Perreo all night and the off chance of running into Bad Bunny, you are guaranteed to have a great night.... oh and you can find some of the best Mojitos the island has to offer here :)
El Yunque
Out of all the beautiful sights Puerto Rico has to offer, El Yunque Rainforest is one of the top attractions. With an overabundance of waterfalls and hiking trails, you can spend a whole day exploring the forest. This is one of Jamie's favorite places!
Casa Bacardí
Tour the Bacardi Rum factory and learn all about it's history - advance ticket purchases are required!
Balneario Isla Verde
Julio speaking here ... a few years back I remember reading a headline titled "Isla Verde wins best Urban Beach" and naturally I clicked on it. For those that don't know this about me. I grew up in Carolina, a mere 10 min drive from El Balneario de Isla Verde. Needles to say, Isla Verde was a big part of my childhood :) It is not the nicest beach in Puerto Rico, but for those of you that will not be staying at the Resort or have a few hours to kill after your flight lands, I highly recommend checking out Isla Verde. It's a 5-minute drive from the airport.
Piñones
If you want to dive straight into Puertorican cuisine, head East from the Airport along Route 187 for about 20 minutes until you start seeing chinchorros (food kiosk) all over the place and the air smells of fried food. Pullover at any of the stops, really you can't go wrong, order a few Medallas, Alcapurrias and Bacalaitos. Don't question it, just do it. Buen provecho!
Luquillo
A more local beach town just outside of San Juan with beautiful views of and amazing local foods - check out the Luquillo kiosks!
Vieques Island
Want white sand beaches and see-through blue waters? The island of Vieques is only a short ferry or flight off of the mainland. This would be a perfect mini-trip after the events of the weekend.
