We have so many friends to thank, near and far, for our relationship! Somehow, our love story has spanned across cities, states, countries, and continents. Robby and I first met at a friend's birthday party in Washington D.C. in January 2016 (thanks, Lianne!). My other friend, Kelly (thanks, Kelly!), and I were visiting Lianne for her 21st birthday during one of the largest snowstorms the city had seen in years. Lianne also happened to be roommates with Robby's cousin, Clare (thanks, Clare!), who invited Robby and some of his friends to go sledding around Catholic University's campus, where Robby was a senior at the time. We spent more time chatting later that evening at Lianne and Clare's apartment but said goodbye and figured we'd never see each other again - the one that got away! Somehow, I felt bad enough for taking $4 from him the night before in a lost bet, and messaged him the next day on Facebook (Thanks, Mark!). We chatted for a few weeks, then I headed to Australia for 4 months.. Robby and I still chatted every day over WhatsApp and Skype, even with a 16 hour time difference. My American friends that were abroad with me, Madison and Sarah (thanks, you two!), knew how smitten I was with Robby at this point, and encouraged me to try meeting up with him again once we were back in the US. Back home that summer of 2016, we decided to meet up again in D.C., and things went too well! That fall, I returned to the University of South Carolina for my senior year. We continued our long distance relationship, D.C. to SC, for about a year. After graduation, it was D.C. to NJ, then Robby started grad school at UT Austin in 2017, so it was TX to NJ for *another* year, and finally, in December 2018, I moved to Austin so we could see if we still liked each other in the same city! Turns out we still really like each other! We can't wait to celebrate this love story with you all in September 2021 and we thank you so much for your love and support these last few years!
