Downtown Yalıkavak has numerous high-end restaurants, shops, bars and hotels. It is a good place to go to the beach, go out to eat or get a drink, and to people watch. Nusr_Et Steakhouse is located here, mention Ercan to get some VIP treatment!
Xuma Village is a relaxing chic beach club to enjoy the sun, delicious bites, and live DJ sets. Check the website for themed events and reservations. It is where we plan to spend a significant amount of time heading up to the wedding day, hope to see you there!
Our favorite traditional Turkish Breakfast spot located in the hills of Yalikavak, Bodrum. The food is exceptional and the homemade breads are to die for! It is a family owned business where they not only cook but also grow their products at a nearby farm. We would spend our summer mornings here before heading into work.
One of the quieter alternatives to the rumbling city center is the Gümüşlük bay. Usually inhabited by locals and Turkish tourists, Gümüşlük is laidback in every sense of the word from the dried gourd lanterns at its many small restaurants to the faded wooden sunbeds on its pebble beach.
Maçakizi Hotel Happy Hour takes place daily from 5pm -7pm with live music and craft cocktails. Aret Sahakyan is the chef on premise and is well known for his modern take on Turkish cuisine. It is a glamorous way to end the day in a secluded natural bay.
The narrow pedestrian alleyways here are lined with vine-draped, whitewashed, and stone-cut cottages that look like they fell off a postcard. Much of Bodrum has been modernized, so this is one of the few parts of town where you can still get a feel for the fishing village it once was before tourism moved in. There are plenty of cute boutiques and cafés in this area if you need to sit down and relax after strolling.
