Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (Porto International Airport)
One of the easiest and most scenic ways to reach Porto from Lisbon is to take the high-speed Alfa Pendular train. You will want to visit the official train operator website to book your tickets: https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/en. We have found the fastest route is from Lisbon Oriente station to Porto Campanha station, where Porto Campanha station is only a 5-minute car ride to the hotel/venue. Lisbon Oriente --> Porto Campanha Duration: ~3hrs Cost: starting from $30/person Daily Departures: 38 Alternatively, you can always catch a 55-minute flight with prices starting at $38/person for a one-way ticket. Keep in mind travel times to and from the airports, as well as check-in and boarding times.
Uber is widely available in Porto, and a car ride is only 16 minutes. Cost: $17+.
Porto boasts an extensive public transportation system operated by the Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto (which includes the metro, buses, and trams). The metro will get you to most major attractions. Uber is another great option for getting around. Fares are relatively inexpensive compared to the US and other European countries. Additionally, Uber now enables you to schedule a ride up to 90 days ahead of time. Renting a car is not recommended for getting around the city or even exploring areas outside the city. Porto's older neighborhoods have narrow, winding, and poorly marked streets that can be challenging to navigate, especially for unfamiliar drivers. Parking can also be difficult and expensive to find. Destinations you may want to drive to outside Porto may prove difficult to navigate as well. Also, note that about 90% of rental cars have manual transmissions.
We plan to have the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception outdoors. The reception will be tented with canopy coverage. In the event of uncooperative weather, we will move festivities indoors.
We kindly ask that for the duration of the wedding ceremony, you refrain from taking photos and videos. We would prefer an unplugged ceremony.
