Our Story

Kings Point gave me many great things, but meeting Garrett was obviously the best :) Everyone at Kings Point kind of knows everyone just by the nature of how small it is. If you ask me, Garrett had his eye on me long before I knew him but that can be up for debate. We got lucky by being placed in the same company as each other in 2019. Garrett would sit by me at lunch and compliment my skills on the volleyball team - I thought he was very nice. Soon enough, we were chatting constantly. Even when we shipped out for our sea tours, he made a point to always check in and offer support. As you know, Covid happened in March 2020 and that kept us apart until we returned back to school in July. After months of anticipation, I was excited to finally get to know Garrett more in person since we left off as friends and I was thinking this could be much more. Fast forward to the football team chanting "Johnson is in love!!!" - we started dating in September 2020. Since then, we both graduated and began our careers. Garrett as a Naval Pilot and me as an engineer for the Navy. We prevailed through many years of long distance between Long Island, Pensacola, Washington D.C., and San Diego - always having the most fun when we could spend time together. One part of our story that we hold close to our hearts is the fact that we were actually broken up for some time. Now, I know what you're thinking: this is your love story - not the hard times when you broke up. To us, it's actually so special that God brought us back together and we are so thankful that happened. Sometimes things play out better than you could have ever imagined and I am so lucky that was our case. I was in San Diego for a work rotation and Garrett was recently stationed at Coronado. I was minding my own business on a run when the greatest twist of fate occurred: I look up and not 6 feet in front of me is Garrett. Out of any trail in San Diego, any time or day of the week, this was an insane coincidence. I felt an instant wave of peace over my heart. We have been inseparable ever since and couldn't imagine a life without one another. In my opinion, our story could literally be a movie. As of late, we love visiting our families in Maryland or Colorado and cooking dinner together every night. When we aren't daydreaming of getting a corgi puppy, you can catch us taking a walk to see the sunset together or enjoying a cup of hot chocolate (Garrett's favorite). From camping in Zion, snorkeling in Aruba, or just day-to-day enjoying our life in San Diego, we are so excited to finally take the next step of marrying one another. We are overjoyed to welcome you all to sunny San Diego and cannot wait to celebrate!
