#FolaJu2025
I was in medical school when I met Afolabi. I’d known of him; our paths crossed in lectures, but everything truly began on a road trip from a crusade. That day, we were seated next to each other, and what started as small talk turned into an amazing conversation that stretched for hours. We started speaking more often, he asked me on a date, and every conversation with him felt irresistible. Afolabi was intentional: he checked in, encouraged me, made me laugh even on my most stressful days. We didn’t just talk — we prayed, supported each other’s dreams, shared our values, and talked about the kind of future we hoped for and every conversation with him felt like light. In his presence, I felt safe; there was a peace that wrapped around me every time we spoke. He listened with such gentleness, loved with quiet strength of Omo Onalaja, and carried a heart full of kindness; it wasn’t long before I realized I was falling for him. God placed Afolabi in my life so gently, so purposefully. He is God’s gift to me, a divine reminder that love could be as easy as breathing, as natural as prayer. And in his love, I found a home.
When I first met Juliet, I saw her as someone easy to be around — fun, kind, and full of light. At first we were just friends, and I genuinely enjoyed her company. But as time passed, I realized I was happiest when I was with her. She made me feel comfortable being fully myself, and more than that, she liked me for who I was. We just clicked. I soon found myself wanting to spend more and more time with her, and eventually I asked her to be my girlfriend. Even in those early days, I noticed the depth of her character: her values, her kindness, her strength. It was clear to me that she had been raised with love and wisdom, and we shared so much in common. I still remember one of our early conversations. We went to what we now call our favorite spot. She looked at me and asked straight up, “What are your intentions for me?” I didn’t hesitate — I told her I wanted to build a future with her: a home, a family. She laughed and said, “We’ll see.” And now, by God’s grace, here we are writing this beautiful chapter together. The story continues, and I can’t wait for everything that’s still to come.
