How we met is a pretty funny story; believe it or not we met on an online website. I saw Marlo's profile first and I thought he was attractive, but of course I played the "hard to get" type of girl and waited for him to message me first. Eventually, Marlo came across my profile and decided to message me. Day by day, we sent messages back and forth to one another until he decided to ask me on a date. Once he asked me, I did not hesitate to say yes. So on June 26, 2015, was the day we first met. I still remember how nervous I felt and how much butterflies I had that day. Marlo and I decided to have our first date at Buffalo Wild Wings. I arrived at the restaurant first, so I got our table and sat there waiting for Marlo to come. He texted me saying he was running late due to his job, but I told him it was okay and to just get here safe. Next thing you know, I am looking out the window and I see a man running towards somewhere. The first thing I thought of was "Omg don't tell me that it is him." Little did I know, the same guy running outside tapped me on my arm and asked, "Juliessa?" I replied, "Marlo?" He replied "Yes" and I Said "Hi!" I was so attracted to him that you can say it was "love at first sight" for me. For Marlo, he always says he was mesmerized by my beauty. We definitely enjoyed our time together that night by eating, laughing talking, and watching Jurassic World after dinner. We both didn't want the night to be over as we walked to our cars, so we continued the conversation in my car. We lost track of time and stayed out so late that the sweeper truck came to clean the parking structure. At that moment, we decided it was time to go home and from there our love for one another was history. August 10, 2015 is the day we became a couple and the day we celebrate our anniversary.

On 11/27/19, my mom had her annual thanksgiving dinner with my entire family. Everyone was in the living room eating, drinking, and having such a great time. Marlo was so nervous and anxious because he was unsure of how to speak to my mom about receiving her blessing. In Marlo's words, "It was a chaotic day." Marlo's story: I tried to speak to Juliessa's mom so many times, but it was hard until I asked God to please give me a sign where I can talk to her. And then BOOOM!!! I see Ms. Daisley go into the garage and I took that opportunity to walk quickly into the garage as well. I said, "Mrs. Daisley, I want to ask you a question." Ms. Daisley responded, "Yes Mijo." I popped the engagement box, opened it for her, and said, "I would love your blessing to ask your daughter to marry me." Mrs. Daisley become emotional, started crying and stated, "I want someone who is going to treat my daughter right and will put her first." She continued by stating that I had to get Mr. Daisley's blessing, She called him to the garage and he didn't say much, but he had a huge smile on his face and bobbed his head saying yes. Mrs. Daisley also wanted me to get the blessing of her siblings Lizbeth and Emilio. After receiving 4 yes, I proceeded into the house. Juliessa's story: As I was stuffing my face with fried chicken, Marlo came to me and grabbed me by the hand to pull me in front of my family. He requested for everyone's attention and began his speech. He started off by saying " I was supposed to do this last year, but I felt it was not great timing due to everything that was occurring with Juliessa's grandfather. So I decided to take this opportunity today. I was looking at him as if he crazy because he never does big speeches in front of anyone. So as he continued speaking, I did not know what to think until he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black box. Then he went down one knee and asked me," will you marry me?" I said, "Yes" crying with tears full of joy.
