So lets begin, I was given permission to write our story and it is one of heart break, hope and love. It all started as a freshman at Rice high school, specifically freshman orientation, connections with old friends from grade school, and awkward interactions with people you barely know. I remember being grouped up with Julie where we had to introduce ourselves and state a fact about ourselves, she likes raspberries, and my fact was something stupid like I liked to snowboard. Wonderful stuff so far, right? Lets fast forward to spring of freshman year, i had finally got the nerve up to ask her out in Mr. Defalco's 7th period math class right before the end of the day, she had said yes and you would think the rest is history right? wrong.. the next day after school right before I was about to go into the locker room for baseball practice, she had met me in the lobby and broke up with me...in front of a member of the baseball team. Let's just say that I still have not lived that down till this day. Strike one for love.. then came hope, we stayed friends after that and continued to talk and hangout throughout high school and into college. She came back home a couple of times and I remember thinking maybe this is my chance, we ended up meeting for a movie and dinner one night but again she had different plans and back to Florida she went.. Strike 2. It wasn't until the spring/summer of 2015 that she decided to move back home. I took another swing and asked if she wanted to catch up, she agreed and we got dinner. One thing led to another and on October 10th, 2015 I had enough confidence to ask her to be my girlfriend (still felt like a child for asking) but she said yes and we've been hitting it out of the park ever since.
