We suggest flying into John Wayne Airport (SNA) if direct flights are an option. There are nonstop routes from EWR, JFK, DFW, and others. It's a shorter drive to Laguna Beach from SNA than from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Diego International Airport (SAN). The drive from SNA is around 30 minutes while the drive from LAX or SAN is around 90 minutes on average. If you choose to fly into LAX or SAN, the best times to avoid significant traffic are late morning (between 10 AM and 11:30 AM) or after 7 PM on weekdays, and early mornings on weekends (before noon).
Philly/South Jersey Friends & Fam: If you're planning to only stay in Laguna during your trip, then we'd highly recommend flying out of Newark if you're able to, as there are more cost-effective & direct options to Orange County (SNA airport). Keep in mind, you can park your car at the airport overnight ($20-$45/night depending on the lot), and take the free shuttle to your terminal that runs every 10-15 minutes.
