We grew up a town apart but never knew each other. It wasn't until years later our dental hygienist played matchmaker and set us up on a blind date. We met for beers at Clydz in New Brunswick and talked the night away. We talked so much that we forgot to eat dinner! The chatting never stopped and a little more than one year later Steve got down on one knee and proposed at the scene of the crime where we first met!
This past year has been such a challenge for all of us. Our wedding plans have changed more times than we can count but we've finally settled on a plan that we hope will be both fun and safe for everyone! As many of you know, we couldn't wait to be husband and wife so we tied the knot in a very small, intimate ceremony at home with our immediate families on our original date (9/5/2020). It was a beautiful day and we are so glad that we did it but we missed having our extended families and close friends there. As Covid is still ever present in our communities we couldn't help but worry about having a big celebration with all that we had originally intended to. We considered canceling all together, postponing a second time, or throwing caution to the wind and just have the big wedding we originally planned. Instead we decided to have a smaller celebration with our families and closest friends in order to keep the number of people down and maintain appropriate social distancing measures while hopefully keeping the fun up! We wish we could celebrate with everyone we know and love but because of the chaos Covid has brought we just didn't feel that was a safe option. For those of you who are not comfortable attending because of the pandemic, we completely understand and know that you love and support us. For those who are comfortable and able to join us, we can't wait to finally celebrate our marriage with you!
