6:45 pm - 10:00 pm
🚇 Transportation: The easiest way to get to Rate Field is on the Red Line. From the Loop or further North, take the Red Line toward 95th/Dan Ryan and get off at Sox-35th. You will be joined by a large group of White Sox fans walking towards the stadium. Your ticket should say what gates are best but feel free to scan your ticket at whichever gate has the shortest line. Uber, Lyft, and taxis will also be plentiful and take you right to the park/back to your accommodations. Rate Field is ~15 minutes drive from downtown. 🎒 Bag Policy: The White Sox only allow small and fully transparent/clear bags into the ballpark. If you’re planning to bring anything that isn’t on your person into the park, you will need to pack it in a see-through bag. Exceptions are made, however, for diaper bags when a child is present! Security will otherwise make you forfeit your belongings before entering the park. We don’t want this to happen to you, it’s such a bummer! You can find more information on the bag policy here.
11:00 am - 2:00 pm
You can find our picnic lunch tent to the left of the car drop-off roundabout on a grassy corner tucked directly behind the beach and bike paths. Come find us on a grassy spot set back from the beach! While parking is available on site, it costs $15 dollars and fills up quick (especially on Labor Day). We recommend taking an Uber for most stress-free experience. For the adventurous, we HIGHLY recommend renting a Divvy (city rental bikes) and taking the lakefront trail southbound to meet us on the beach. You can rent bikes by downloading the Lyft app on your phone and scanning the QR code located on each bike. Biking along the lake is truly the most enjoyable way to get around.
5:30 pm - 11:00 pm
The Garfield Park Conservatory is a greenhouse that stays warm and humid year round! Light and comfortable attire is encouraged. Block heels highly recommended
The venue is about 15-20 minutes from the Loop by car and about 20-25 minutes from the Loop by the 'L' (Green Line). If you are driving, parking is available on site. If you plan to take the train, board any Green Line train in the Loop heading towards "Harlem/Lake". Take the train to "Conservatory-Central Park Drive". The station is adjacent to the Conservatory--you can't miss it! Doors open at 5pm. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm and we have access to the whole conservatory (and outdoor gardens) until 11pm! Feel free to explore the scenery to your heart's content!
8:30 am - 11:30 am
