The Love Story

March of 2019 Nick and Julie had both just come out of a relationship and were looking to put themselves back out there on the dating market. With full time jobs and an introverted lifestyle they decided they would try the popular dating app Bumble. It only took three weeks of swiping, awkward conversations and bad dates before they swiped right on each other and decided to meet for the first time. They decided to meet in a Starbucks in Milton one Saturday morning for coffee. Julie was the first to arrive, of course, and sat patiently waiting for Nick who arrived right on time and five minutes late. From first glance at her Nick was struck speechless at the gorgeous woman who sat before him. Both of them immediately felt this was no ordinary date and decided to switch their coffee date to a full on meal at Newcomb Farms where they sat lost in conversation for the better part of two hours. After that they began spending as much time as they could together because they knew this relationship was something special!

The Proposal

The night started with a dinner reservation at The Tavern at Granite Links. It was quiet inside the recently opened restaurant and it was a great environment for Nick and Julie to slow down from their fast-paced work lives to enjoy some quality time together. Throughout the dinner Julie kept checking in on their two dogs via the mobile app Furbo. Towards the end of the dinner Nick made mention that before they meet up with Nicks' cousins for drinks at Crossing 9’s, they take a selfie by the Gazebo on the 9th tee box. As the check was arriving Julie noticed the one of the dogs had knocked the gate down in their condo. Fearing something may have gone wrong Julie wanted to stop home to check on the dogs. Nick, whose left leg had fallen asleep from sitting on one butt cheek all night to protect the ring in his back pocket, became increasingly anxious to take this ever-important selfie. They paid for their meal and after much convincing that the dogs were fine, Nick finally led Julie to the spot he planned to propose. Unbeknownst to Julie, Nick had his Aunt Lisa and his cousins Emma and Grace, waiting in the parking lot ducking behind some vehicles to capture the moment about to happen. As Nick was nervously taking his coveted selfie with his soon to be bride a Cheech and Chong like character on a golf cart drove up and said, “hey man there’s some paparazzi trying to take pictures of you over there”. Nick being the only one that heard him, thankfully waved him off. As Julie turned to watch this man in a golf cart drive away Nick got down on one knee. With the beautiful sunset scene overlooking the city of Boston Nick asked Julie to spend the rest of her life with him. She jumped back overcome with emotion and she said YES! 455 days after their first date Nick and Julie made it official!
