Travel back in time with us to the day of the East Village Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade, 2015. Neil had recently moved to the city and was living with his friend Eric Goldstein and Julie was living with her sister Jacqui in Hell's Kitchen. Julie was on a date with someone else that she had just met and they decided to go to a nearby bar by the name of Empellon Al Pastor to meet up with his friends. After getting Julie a beer, the suiter disappeared into the abyss of the bar crowd, leaving her to sit alone at a high-top table near the door. Suddenly, the door swung open and in walked a group of friends, one of them being Neil and the other being Eric. Given that the bar was packed and Julie was sitting at an empty table with available seating, Neil sat down next to her and Eric struck up a conversation by asking her what she does for a living. Julie told Eric and Neil that she worked at a fertility company, which is always an interesting icebreaker. Neil told Julie that he worked in media and went to college at Virgina Tech. The two chatted for a while longer. Julie found Neil to be extremely handsome and wished that she wasn't there with someone else. Shortly after, Neil left the bar with his friends. As Neil left, Julie thought to herself "Shit, there's like 8 million people in Manhattan I’m never going to see this guy again."

Realizing she may have missed a connection at the bar that night, Julie took her sorrows to the internet and opened up her Tinder app and began to swipe right at any guy that relatively looked like Neil. As fate would seemingly have it, a profile with a guy by the name of Neil popped up, and he looked A LOT like the guy from the bar - same bone structure, same beautiful blue eyes, same facial hair. His profile even said that he went to college at Virginia Tech! This MUST be the same person, right? They matched and Neil began to message Julie. They chatted for a few days on Tinder until Neil asked Julie for her phone number and if she would like to meet up for drinks in the West Village. Julie agreed, wondering if this was the same Neil she had met a few weeks prior. Julie met up with Neil that Thursday night at a bar by the name of Vol De Nuit. When she walked in, she realized that this guy might actually be the guy she met after the Halloween dog parade a few weeks prior. She greeted Neil with a big friendly smile and a bear hug and told him that he looked really familiar. Neil didn't believe it was possible that they had already met, she couldn't be the girl he met a few weeks ago, right? They went on to have a fantastic first date, filled with Belgian beers, an Italian pizza joint and lots of laughs. The night ended with a midnight kiss as they were entertained by the odd cast of characters sitting alongside them at the pizza joint. Neil asked Julie to go on a second date in Central Park shortly after. Neil & Julie strolled the pathways, getting to know one another. Eventually, they found a patch of grass to sit down where Neil then pulled off the now infamous Spiderman kiss. When Neil came home from their second date, he began to tell his roommate Eric all about the girl named Julie who works at a fertility company. Eric stopped Neil and said "Hey wait - didn't we just meet a girl named Julie that worked at a fertility company a few weeks ago at the bar?"
