FAQs

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We'd love to see everyone as much as possible for the time you'll be in Charlevoix! While there are no formal plans, we will likely be hopping around town at various times during the weekend! We plan to find a spot for an excellent nightcap before the big day and welcome everyone in town on Friday to join us! We will do our best to let everyone know where we will be but feel free to text us if you haven't heard from us!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the evening is "semi-formal" Our ceremony and cocktail hour is planned to be held outdoors, with the reception taking place inside the barn. Please be mindful that we will be experiencing up north's beautiful fall weather near Lake Michigan. As most of you know, Michigan's weather can sometimes be unpredictable, so who knows what we'll get! In previous years, on Oct. 1st Charlevoix had a high of 70 degrees and went down to 50 degrees late in the evening. We suggest packing a coverup/shall just in case!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

All of the wedding day events are happening at the same location, and there is plenty of space for parking should you choose to do so!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

A complimentary shuttle service is available if you'd like to use it! Shuttle Schedule: Bus 1 - 3:30 pm - Arrival at Hotel Earl 3:40 pm - Arrival at Charlevoix Inn & Suites 3:50 pm - Arrival at Shanahan's Barn 4:00 pm - Second and final shuttle from Hotel Earl to Shanahan's Barn Bus 2 - 3:30 pm - First and only shuttle arriving at Courtyard Marriott Petoskey Bus 1 & 2 - 9:00 - 11:00 pm - Shuttles will be available during this time to take guests back *Anyone staying in an Airbnb that would like to use the shuttle should plan for the Hotel Earl pickup*

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

As much as we would love to invite everyone's amazing "plus one," please only do so if your invitation specifies "And Guest." We appreciate your understanding! :)

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids but want you to be able to kick back, relax, and be in the moment with us! We are requesting only adults to attend; however, we understand our guests are taking a road trip to come to celebrate with us, so if you have issues finding backup, please let us know, and we can work something out!

For all the days along the way
